More Balsam

Things have dried out a lot since the winter flooding at Kings Pightle and spring is now full on. We are trying to get on top of the Himalayan Balsam weeds  this year, making and earlier start before it has time to flower and seed.
This involves pulling it up with roots, luckily it does not root deeply and is quite easy, our biggest challenge is the number of seedlings.
If you are able to spare a couple of hours on Sunday June the 1st sometime after 9AM please let Richard and Anne know or just turn up. As per usual, please bring your own tools and safety gear, just gloves and boots should do it this time.
Sorry, I can’t make this one but have fun. I am sure someone will find a need for a bonfire We hope to be able to share some good news with you very soon regarding the field study area and bird hide projects.
